Ah. Colorado.

The past couple of evenings have had the most incredible sunsets here in Colorado. Last night I was driving home from a long day of errands and mountain biking, and I was cussing myself because I didn't have my camera with me. There was this painterly sky with airplane contrails crisscrossing over the silhouette of Pikes Peak. It was so rad.

I got home, ran inside and grabbed my trusty 50D and as I ran down the stairs I adjusted the settings to what I thought would be perfect. Or at least close enough.

Here's my favorite of the handful of photos I took before the colors of the night sky faded into grays.

(and for old time's sake) ISO400 - 46mm - f/2.8 - 1/125sec
