A gorgeous fall shoot!

Well there you have it... 

The power of editing.

The original photo: I started with good composition, leading lines, and great lighting... Not a bad photo.

Let's take that same photo into Lightroom and make some tweaks...

And a B&W version with a couple more tweaks...

There is a VAST difference between "point and shoot" photography and professional photography.

For this Senior shoot I used my Canon 50D, 24-70 f/2.8L lens, and a 32" Photoflex reflector.

Brandi this is everyone, everyone this is Brandi.

Right as we're about to start Brandi's Senior photo shoot she informs me that she doesn't like having her photos taken. This is the final photo from the Senior shoot I did today. They didn't turn out so bad. :) I'll share some others as I complete editing them.

Ahhh... It feels so good to have hundreds of photos finally culled and edited. Now I just have to copy the images to DVD and my website (and of course deliver them). Here are a few more images that I love. And why not share them with you and the world???

So long sweet summer...

Every Sunday night my beautiful girlfriend Andrea and I head up to Denver to attend Scum of the Earth Church, which is often followed by a trip to the "Highlands" to visit the most incredible place on earth. No, not Disney World. But Little Man Ice Cream. Without fail every weekend one of us says how much just a short drive to Denver feels like a vacation. This weekend was no exception. When there wasn't a breeze you were quite comfortable, and then when a breeze came along there was no mistaking fall is in the air. Many times I've expressed my dismay that I didn't have my camera along with me on our excursions to Denver, this time I actually had it and was able to capture this incredible skyline. Wow!

So I'm sitting here editing Kevin and Joanna's wedding photos, and having a rough go of it on some of the photos because of the harsh noon light. Trying to correct for the hard light, the shadows, the highlights, etc. Grrr...

I'm working on the above photo when a new song by The Arcade Fire comes on that says:

"The kids are all standing with their arms folded tight."

Awesome.
