First Five: Brooke & Brian

I just got back last night from Port Aransas Texas. I'm sporting a nice sunburn and a smile because of the incredible weeding weekend. So let me introduce you to the newlyweds!

Brooke has been a long time friend of mine. We are for sure we met in 2002, and possibly as early as 1995. We met in Manitou Springs Colorado at Summit Ministries a Christian leadership/ worldview camp. The two of us spent numerous years working at Summit together, and she is like a sister to me.

Brooke met Brian when they were attending law school. Not that Brooke wanted to be a lawyer, she was kinda there for the intellectual "fun". They met over a debate about the death penalty. No joke.

It is plainly obvious that they are best friends. Their beach wedding was pulled off by loving friends and family who came from around the country. It was a humid, sandy, hot and beautiful celebration.

More to come I promise!

Hmm... A new chapter perhaps?

Some cool stuff is going on in the midst of finalizing everything for my own wedding. I leave tomorrow for Texas to shoot the wedding of my longtime friend and "sister" Brooke! It's going to be a beach wedding, and I am crazy excited to be there for her big day.

So aside from preparing for this weekend I am also putting some thought into my pricing structure and even branding. Yes branding. I think I've come up with a new business name that is more fitting to me personally and to what I attempt to capture for my clients. (More so than: Tim Kippel or To Stars Unknown Photography)

There you have it. Maybe I'll be able to reveal some of this awesomeness when I get back from the warm sands of Texas.

Quote of the day...

"Portraits often seem pregnant with speech, or as if their subjects have just finished saying something, or will soon speak the thoughts that inform their faces, the thoughts we're invited to read."

Quote of the day...

"Always show your best work. Show the work that demonstrates what you want to do and includes the types of clients you want for your business. Don't display work that's mediocre. If you show images that aren't your best, or aren't close to your heart, it attracts clients you don't necessarily want."

Quote of the day...

"Inspiration isn't easy,
and it doesn't come to those who aren't looking for it.
But it's out there waiting to be discovered."
