Denver street photography & a bonus $75 parking ticket.
I had gone up to Denver (Aurora actually) for a Chick-fil-a grand opening but I didn't make the 100 person raffle cut off for camping so I decided to bum around downtown near the State Capitol and take some photos. My vision was to create some gritty and urban images. The photographs did turn out really rad but then I put a spin on them in LR to make them seem more like what you'd see out of an instamatic or medium format Holga. Enjoy!

A Day In The Life...
So months ago, like months & months ago, I had intended to complete an hourly photo project. The goal was to take a photo an hour with my Canon 50D and 50mm f/1.8 lens. I kept putting it off - that's my M.O. unfortunately. Seeing as how that project was always nagging at me I decided to make it happen with my newly acquired LG G2X smart phone, its 8GB camera and an app called "Retro Camera". While not as creative as taking my DSLR around with me would have been, taking photos frequently with more of a point and shoot concept has encouraged me to shoot more and gets me thinking about light/ angles/ point of view/ etc. It was a fun experiment. Lastly I like being honest, so the photos below marked with an * were not taken during my one waking day but do add to the story.

Proper Wines shout out!
I did some product photos for some friends' vineyard this summer and they're finally featured on their website! When I say that I never liked wine until I had their, Proper Wines, I am being completely honest. So not only should you check out their website and my photos but you should get a bottle or six.

The Best Camera...
It has been said that The Best Camera is the One That's With You. That is sooo very true. A few months ago I purchased the Canon G12 just so I'd be more inclined to have a camera with me wherever I went; and I've hardly carried it. For that I've kicked myself many a time because I've not been able to capture a moment in time, a grand display of beauty. I'm going to try and be more motivated to carry a camera. As Dave Ramsey conveyed at a leadership conference last week, vision without motivation is worthless.
So without further ado, here are 2,000 more words taken on my new Android phone a LG G2X with 8mp camera...

The things weekends are made of...
Stars puncturing the curtain of night.
Lazy days (I'm the luckiest).
God-made sunsets in manmade windows.
Beautiful works of art
(Lamborghini Superleggera 1 of only 172 ever made).
Hot days, hot dogs and
doing what you love.
